Great Price on Lionel's Area 51 Train Set

Just in time for Christmas, we are offering a special price on Lionel's Area 51 Train Set! We have lowered the price from $189.99 to $154.99 with free shipping. (The manufacturer's suggested retail is $229.99.)

If you are new to model trains or know of someone shopping around for a train set, the Area 51 set is fun, different, and full of neat features. The engine is the reliable 0-8-0 design and the cars all provide additional excitement to the set. The tank car has a liquid load, and the goo inside the car swirls around as it goes around the track. If you are looking for something other than a basic freight or passenger train, this could be the set for you. It even includes six alien figures.

I'm new at this so please bear with me if I don't post this properly. I saw your Blue Streak on Ebay. I was looking for something that was affordable for my brother as he is turning 50 next week. He shared the love of trains with my Dad. My Dad had mentioned the Blue Streak (circa 1930's)as a fond memory. He had contracted polio when he was 8 years old. After spending 2 yrs. in the Shriner's Hospital he recalled coming home and his parents had set up his new train set under the tree where he could lay on the floor and play with them. I always wanted to get the trains back for him but...he passed away in '99 and so thought my brother would enjoy them. Seeing what they are worth now...I'd never be able to give such a gift but I marveled at the beautiful condition the trains were in and thank you for preserving a piece of history for me to view. May your holidays be filled with wonderful blessings and peace. :)

I'm glad to hear that our Blue Comet Set inspired such memories. Trains in general have a tendency to do that frequently. It is a beauty and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing it and it evoked those good memories.
